Holy Cross moves into third-place tie with win at Sydenham

December 21, 2013

Holy Cross Crusaders closed the pre-Christmas portion of the Kingston Area Secondary Schools Athletic Association senior boys basketball schedule Thursday with a 45-30 win over the Sydenham Golden Eagles.

In holding the home team to its lowest point total of the season, Holy Cross won its third game in a row to move into a second-place tie with the Frontenac Falcons and Regiopolis Notre Dame Panthers at 3-1. All three teams are four points behind the league leaders, Kingston and La Salle, who both went into the break with unblemished 5-0 marks.

Sydenham fell into a three-team logjam for sixth place with Loyalist and Bayridge, all at 2-3.

The season will resume Tuesday, Jan. 9, with five games. The big game of resumption week will be played Thursday, Jan. 11, when KC visits La Salle.
